Electrical Equipment Specialist Certificate

This certificate program must be completed in a two year period. Each course is held twice a year. Once in the fall term & once in the winter term. One or two courses can be taken per term.

This certificate program is designed for individuals who would like to gain an in-depth understanding of all electrical equipment used in industry including all types of transformers, generators, motors, variable frequency drives, inverters, rectifiers, uninterruptible power systems, industrial batteries, circuit breakers, fuses and protective relays. The delegates who complete this certificate will be able to select, commission, operate, diagnose, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and refurbish this equipment. They will also be able to perform most design calculations associated with this equipment, increase the reliability of the equipment and minimize its operating and maintenance cost. This certificate will provide employers with assurance that the delegate has the necessary skills and competence in order to perform high-quality electrical work in any industry. The certificate will also significantly enhance the skills and competence of workers throughout all industry and the employability and marketability of each delegate in today’s competitive market. The certificate is designed to improve the productivity of workers and the profitability of the industry. This certificate is suitable for engineers of all disciplines, operators, managers, technologists, technicians, and all technical personnel.
The delegates interested in obtaining this certificate will have to successfully complete the following seminars:
The delegates will have to complete a multiple-choice exam at the end of each seminar and obtain a minimum passing grade of 60%. There are no prerequisites for this certificate. The material covered in the seminars is designed for delegates who do not have prior knowledge or background about electrical equipment.
